Requesting Articles

Step 1: Check RIC library

Before you request an article, search our periodical list for the title of the magazine or journal in which it should appear.  Please note, even if we have the specific magazine or journal, our coverage varies.  Please verify that we have the specific year needed.  For help with this, contact the Reference Desk at 401-456-8125.

Step 2: Submit Interlibrary Loan Request

Interlibrary Loans are special requests for magazine and journal articles that are not available through the James P. Adams Library magazine and journal list.  Please supply as much information as possible.  It generally takes 1 to 2 weeks for the requested material to arrive.  You will get a telephone call or email notification when they arrive and can pick them up at the circulation desk. Please note when charges apply they will be passed along to the requester.  Also see Interlibrary Loan Policies.
